Notes: Ewbanks of Bolton Percy, mentioned by Eliza Dawson in her 1786 tour of Scotland: she writes in her autobiography that 'Mr. Ewbank, a man of good private fortune, was Curate of the parish, and lived at the Rectory. His wife was a truly devout and exemplary woman, of cultivated mind and great refinement of manners.'
