Notes: Sir William Draper (1721–1787), army officer, was involved in the War of the Austrian Succession from 1744 to 1748, as lieutenant-colonel commandant in the East Indies in 1758, in a strike against the Spanish base at Manila during the Seven Years' War, and as lieutenant-governor of Minorca, shortly before its invasion by French and Spanish forces in August 1781. Controversy between him and his senior on the island lead to the end of his career following a general court martial between November 1782 and January 1783. He was in debt by £6000 at his death.
